#Refining: Using Databases

Learn About Library Databases and Google

When searching Google, Yahoo, Bing or other browsers, you will find lots of information,
but not the scholarly type of
material your instructors expect of you. Anyone can create a website on any subject, whether they are an expert or not.

No one is policing the web.

By now you should realize the library is here for you, providing many resources, in print but especially online through access to lots of databases.

In the Parts of a Research Strategy, you toured the quick guide about
the MCTC Library Resources Page. These databases provide access to
journal and magazine articles, newspapers, ebooks, e-reference materials,
streaming videos, and test prep material. Don't be shy about trying any
of the databases to find information on your topic.
